Subject:   Airplane Crash at Morey Airport
Date/Time:  12/6/2014 3:14PM

Middleton Police, Fire and EMS responded to a reported single plane crash on the grass landing field at Morey Airport located at 8300 Airport Road in the City of Middleton.  Two persons were injured in the crash.

Preliminary investigation shows that a Carbon Cub SS Sport two seat airplane piloted by a 70 year old Monona resident had flipped onto its top as it attempted to land on the grass landing field.  Apparently this was the pilots second attempt to land after having had to abort his first attempt for reasons unknown at this time.

The pilot suffered a head injury and was ambulatory upon emergency services arrival.  His 66 year old wife suffered more severe injuries.  Both were transported by Middleton EMS to a local hospital.

The FAA and NTSB were notified and will investigate the cause of the accident.

Morey Airport was closed for a period of time due to the accident.
