On Friday, May 8th, 2015 at 6:24 pm, officers responded to a report of an accident with injuries at Greenway Blvd and Highway 12. Upon arrival officers observed a 3 vehicle accident. Officers made contact with the drivers of each vehicle, two reported injuries and were transported to local hospitals. Officers made contact with Gopikrishna Potnuru, 44, who admitted to drinking alcohol. He was put through field sobriety tests, and placed under arrest for operating while intoxicated, causing injury. Upon checking his driver's status, it was found he had one prior arrest for driving while intoxicated. Potnuru was taken to jail for OWI causing injury, which is a felony offense.
Pursuant to the directive of the Wisconsin Supreme Court, as found in Supreme Court Rule 20:3.6, Trial Publicity, you are advised that a charge is merely an accusation and that a defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
